The Quest!

Many people have told me that I HAVE TO make a blog... Well the voices are ringing in my ears with satisfaction as I write this. Now I want to apologize in advance for my horrible writing.

AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) FEMA ( Federal Emergency Management Agency) is the program that I will be in during my service of ten months from August 20th, 2013 to June 3rd, 2014. My base and address will be in Vinton, Iowa at the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. From what I have heard it's a pretty cool campus. And for my address I will give that out once I'm there and I know my team name!

Many people have been asking me why. Well, my response to that is why the hell not? I am at a crossroad in my life, so I've decided to go in the median where there are fields and fields of opportunities with all the flowers in which diversity lives. So for the next ten months I will be weaving these flowers and grasses, each step I take, I will make a mark on the fields, maybe not forever but just long enough to be helpful.

The time is slowly running towards me at a pace I can't quite understand. One moment its 50 days the next it's under a month?! So I have been cramming in all my friends and family that I can reach to get one last hoorah with, plus I work two jobs and my Saturday nights at West makes my time seem like its slipping by! The excitement is like Christmas morning! It feels fantastic, I become  very excited whenever I see any email , any face book post,  any mail, and any phone call  from them.

So here's the ending to my first task of many in this quest of mine, the next one shall be the packing and preparation. Thank you for reading and I shall speak my mind in a little bit!
